David Mohr, European General Manager of GAMEVIL COM2US, has told us more about the eSport ambitions of the Summoners War makers.
Hello David. When was the decision made to host official eSports tournaments with Summoners War players and how complicated was it to make that idea a reality?
David Mohr: In March, we opened the Real Time Arena in Summoners War, and from the beginning we had the desire to host tournaments. There were then first, smaller tournaments in Korea and in June an international invitation tournament in New York. The success of these events has encouraged us to embark on a true World Cup for which we now play the preliminary rounds in nine cities around the world and then crown the champion in the grand finale in the USA at the end of November. It’s not easy to set up such a series of really big offline events, but luckily we have experienced partners to help us with that. Nevertheless, we are very excited about how the tournament will be in Paris and how many viewers we will have online in our streams!
Some people claim that you just have to invest a lot of money to be one of the world’s best players in Summoners War. Is that correct?
David Mohr: To survive in the arena you need strong monsters, strong runes, and above all, a lot of … Read the rest “Summoners Wars: Questions, Answers and Information about the World Cup”
Summoners War: Sky Arena has become one of the biggest mobile game hits of all time in the past few years. But while other MMOs have long since turned into exclusive clubs of experts whose vast amounts of backstory and deep gameplay mechanics act as de facto access barriers, Summoners War keeps its doors wide open for newcomers – without losing its long-established clientele To bump your head. We’ll give you five reasons why you should start summoning monsters in the arena now …
1. You want to develop yourself permanently
With what you have learned in school, you can not do anything in real life? Potential employers are not impressed by your bachelor’s degree? Your partner in life simply burns with the yoga teacher after three years? Life is not fair and you are not always rewarded for the time and energy you put into a project.
In the Sky Arena of Summoners War, on the other hand, your mission will be rewarded with steady progress : As you complete one of the daily missions, you will receive crystals and experience points to level up your monsters. When you defeat the gigantic world boss with 20 of your + Level 20 monsters, you’ll finally receive the scroll you need for your next monster summon. And if you prove yourself against the best players in the PvP World Arena you will be invited to the next World Cup.
In fact, you’ll be rewarded for all the activities you do in the world of Summoners War – from designing your personalized hub world to participating in community events.
Best of all, the monster-gathering gameplay loops, as well as funky gameplay loops, upgrading them with runes, and finally sending them into fights make it a hell of a lot of fun as well.
2. You have no time for stupid games
More and more series, films, comics and games compete daily for our attention. But the day has only 24 hours, of which we spend at least eight (ok, rather five) hours in bed and spend most of our time in the office on Facebook. In your limited free time, which starts with the return trip to work, is effectively only time for a AAA mobile game. And that should be Summoner’s War.
Because unlike many other Free2Play RPGs , it respects your precious time . After perfidious “time-gating” mechanisms,
Summoners War Sky Arena
The Arena in Summoners War is a place where PvP matches can be played. It can be fought against NPCs or rivals. In order to fight in the arena, you need at least one “Arena Invitation”. Otherwise it is not possible to fight.
If you win in the arena, you will receive mana stones, experience points, energy and also crystals. In addition to the regular rewards, you also receive three “Honor Points” honor points that can be spent in the Honor Shop for structures that are of particular advantage in the arena (for example, reinforcing effect in the arena).
Arena Course (PvP)
In the arena, players meet to fight each other. In order for the fighting to be fair, the players or even “duelists” are judged on the basis of their Arena Points. Your match points, or “Weekly Points”, are reset weekly. The higher these are, the higher the Weekly Reward. The Arena Points Arena points rise or fall, depending on whether you win or lose in a fight. Here is an overview of how this is handled:
The list of players is sorted according to their own Arena points. A player with 1200 arena points, gets accordingly duelists, who are on an approximately similar Arena stand. The own level is independent. If you defeat all the players in a list, you get two arena invitations as a reward. The number of Honor Points you get varies as you have more Arena Points.
Weekly rewards
At the end of each week, at the German time every Monday morning (Global Server), (in the Europa server at 22 o’clock on Sunday) the arena closes and can not be entered anymore. During this time, the Arena points are totaled and evaluated. After the brief Arenapause, the rewards are distributed. The higher the arena points, the higher the crystals you get. The first place will receive crystals, as well as additional monsters.
Defense
To ensure sufficient defense, it is necessary to set up Arcane Towers. These will do absolute damage and completely ignore the attacker’s defense. The defender has no direct influence on the erected Arcanen towers. However, they can be strengthened by appropriate upgrades in the shop of honor or attack faster. The more Arcane Towers are raised, the higher the total damage for the defender. After the Arcane Towers are fully charged during combat, they begin to attack … Read the rest “Summoners War Sky Arena”
Summoners War Runes
Summoners War Runes are special stones that can be equipped and reinforced on monsters. Equipping monsters with an appropriate number of runes can strengthen the monster with an additional effect. You can equip up to six runes per monster. With the right combination, even a weak monster can be greatly enhanced. The higher the level of a rune, the stronger the effect. Each rune has different extensions (such as “Fast Rune”, “Deadly Rune”), which still has an additional effect. Already created runes can be removed and reused. However, removal costs a lot of manastones, depending on the level of the rune.
Runes can be found in various areas, such as the Giants’ Fortress, Dragon Buildings and the Necropolis. They can also be purchased at the Magic Shop and Guildshop. In the areas the individual levels are the indication for the Rune Slot to be obtained. So in level 1 only the rune for slot 1 can be found and in level 2 only the rune for slot 2 can be found. It is different in the boss level. Here you can find all runes from Slot 1 to Slot 6.
All runes have strengthening effects. These can increase the status values (for example, HP, Attack Power, Critical Damage, and others). Depending on the rune, these values can either be added by bonuses or increased by a percentage. Each rune also has its own level. These levels can be increased in the upgrade window. The higher the level of the rune, the higher the bonus the monster receives. Upgrading the rune costs mana. The higher the level, the higher the cost. The likelihood that the upgrade process will fail also increases with the level of the level of the rune. All runes have a maximum level of 15. At Level 3/6/9/12, the rune receives another strengthening effect. These are called “sub-stat”. If the run already has a sub-stat, the sub-stat is upgraded again. If the rune has multiple sub-stats from the beginning, one will randomly be selected and upgraded.
The color of the rune is crucial for their rarity and for the number of sub-stats. An overview:
If 2 or 4 runes of the same type are created, a bonus will be activated. This is the set bonus. The word runeset is also often used. The set bonuses are always displayed next to the runeslots. How many runes … Read the rest “Summoners War: Runes”

Fascination Summoners War: The secret of success
The Korean game maker Com2us has already created some hits, but with Summoners War: Sky Arena succeeded in 2014 the big hit. For three years now, mobile role-playing has become very popular and there is no end in sight. What is this fascination? We try to get to the bottom of the question …
You have to let it melt on your tongue: Over 80 million people worldwide play Summoners War : Sky Arena and since the release about three years ago, the app has earned around 850 million euros. Anyone who does not know Summoner’s War should be quite surprised by such numbers. After all, there are countless mobile role-playing games in the app stores of this world and at first glance, this one does not seem to stand out from the crowd. So what does Summoners War have, what other mobile RPGs do not have?
Simply put, it’s about summoning monsters and letting them compete in turn-based battles. You begin as a fresh summoner on a small, floating island that forms your base, so to speak. Now you can place buildings and objects, enlarge the flying island and populate it with creatures. This aspect of Summoner’s War: Sky Arena could also be called a Construction Strategy Light . The first buildings have a kind of summon stamp that allows you to create different monsters and creatures. To write that you will spend some time here would be a complete understatement.
Summoning requires different resources and items, and as a rule, the less valuable or more valuable the item, the higher the quality of the created monster. How to get to these resources and items? Some of them are easy to buy with the in-game currency, which is a reward for completed battles and challenges. You will receive others as a win bonus for specific tasks. On the world map, arenas, dungeons and events are gradually being unlocked, increasing the challenge. You always need stronger monsters to stand up to your opponents. Sounds relatively straightforward, right?
From the depths
That would be one of the great strengths of Summoner’s War: Sky Arena. It seems like a simple mobile game for in between, but can keep up in terms of game depth but with great MMORPGs on PC and console. The developers have … Read the rest “Summoners Was Insights Into The Mobile App”
